Interventional Radiology is a newly emerged branch from Radiology where by using fluoroscopic guidance, non-invasive complex procedures are performed. The image guided interventional techniques expanded rapidly because of their advantages like local anesthesia, low rate of mortality and morbidity and short stay at the hospital.

Image guided interventional procedures provides a solution to the limitations in a conventional surgery. The volumetric information and the improved tissue characterization not only can help reduce the invasiveness but also help in the localization of the lesions.
